Mrs. Teresa Cook Hamby, 59, of Luthersville, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Wellstar Atlanta Medical Center, of injuries received in an automobile accident which occurred May 21.
Mrs. Hamby was born May 26, 1957, in Newnan, and was a 1974 graduate of Newnan High School. A resident of Meriwether County most of her life, she retired as assistant branch manager of Meriwether Bank and Trust in Luthersville after 35 years of service and was a member of Luthersville Baptist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years and was active in leading the youth of the church.
Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Stephanie and John Weiher of Lone Oak; her father, Bill Cook; sister and brother in-law, Shelia and Craig Simpson; niece, Monica and Cory Wargofcak and their children Emma and Wyatt, all of Luthersville; sisters in-law, Betty and Joe Varriccho of Texas, Joan and Malchom Castleberry of Shiloh, Wendy and Joe Madison of LaGrange; and brothers in-law, David and Miriam Hamby of Pine Mountain Valley, Roger and Betty Ann Hamby of Hamilton. Her husband, Doug Hamby, passed away May 17, 2016.
The memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend John Pape will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 5 Friday afternoon.
