Ted Ray

Mr. Ted Ray, 75, of Greenville, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at his home.

Mr. Ray was born May 22, 1949, in Atlanta, son of the late Robert Vernon Ray and Helen Geneva Vincent. A resident of Meriwether County most of his life, he retired from Georgia Pacific after 39 years of service. He was a member of Greenville Baptist Church, served many years as a volunteer firefighter for the Meriwether County Fire Department, and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Ray; his son, Chris Ray, both of Greenville; sister, Doris Elaine Pittman (Ronnie), of Forsyth; brother, John Timothy Ray (Patricia Rhodes) of Centre, AL; and Jessica Anderson (Dustin) whom he considered as a granddaughter, and her children, Tristin, Chloe, and Parker.

The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, at Greenville Baptist Church, with the Reverend Jonathan Porter officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like friends to consider planting a tree in memory of Ted.
