Mr. Thomas Talmadge "Tal" Moncus III, 50, of Newnan, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Tal was born March 26, 1971, in LaGrange, son of the late Thomas Talmadge "Thom" Moncus II and Amy Martin Moncus. A certified welder, Tal also worked as an over the road truck driver, driving the United States for several years.
He was an accomplished guitar player, loved collecting guitars, and driving on Forest Service Roads, especially in a Jeep. Tal enjoyed camping in the North Georgia mountains and hiking, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his daughter Audrey. In later years, when his decline in health took so many of these things from him, he and Audrey enjoyed simple pleasures like cooking macaroni and cheese and toast and watching television together.
Survivors include his children, Audrey Moncus and her mother, Sarah Campbell, of Newnan, T.J. Moncus and Abigail Moncus both of Florida; his sister, Charli Smith and her husband, Bill, of Newnan; niece and nephew Allie (Justin) Spain and Will Smith; aunts and uncles, Brenda Evans, Tad (Tina) Swanson, Jackie Rogers, Jim (Annell) Martin and Ann Arrington.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
