Mrs. Sue Gallaway Wheelus, 67, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Mrs. Wheelus was born April 20, 1953, in Newnan, daughter of the late Paul and Ruby Ingram Gallaway. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she was a member of Highland Baptist Church, worked as a waitress for many years, and was employed at Carter Company prior to her retirement.
Survivors include her sons and their wives, Mark and Christy Jones of Hogansville, Chad and Tootie Wheelus of Franklin, TN; sister, Emily Stanley of Fairburn; grandchildren Brandon Wheelus, Erica Manuel, Jordan Jones, Kayla Sims; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Wheelus; and her sons, Jason Richmond Jones, Steve Wheelus, Tim Wheelus.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 1, at the graveside in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County, with the Reverend Lonnie Bennett officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday night.
