MR. STEVE L. ROWELL Mr. Steve L. Rowell, 58, of Franklin, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 21, at Salem United Methodist Church in Heard County. The Reverend Bob Moffitt and the Reverend Richard Campbell will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 Sunday evening. Mr. Rowell was born June 15, 1953, in Monroeville, Alabama, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Troy State University, and had lived in Franklin since 1977. He retired as an administrator from the Department of Family and Childrens Services in Coweta County, had served as a church musician for several area churches, and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Survivors include his sons and daughter in-law, Sandy and Shevon Rowell of Franklin, Scottie Rowell of Atlanta; daughter and son in-law, Susanna and Jonathan Smith of LaGrange; the beloved mother of his children, Sara Rowell of Franklin; his mother, Louise Addison of Monroeville, AL; sisters, Judy Smith of Robertsdale, AL, Debbie Jones of Frisco City, AL; and grandchildren, Sirus Rowell and Trystan Rowell. He was preceded in death by his son, Henry Douglas Thompson Rowell, his partner, James Michael Willett, and his father, Henry William Rowell. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 5 until 8 Sunday, May 20th, at Claude A.
