Star Jordan Phillips, age 40, of Newnan and her infant daughter Angel Star Phillips, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. Ms. Phillips was born December 29, 1979, in Atlanta and lived in Coweta County most of her life. A member of Hope Memorial Baptist Church in Newnan, she had been employed as a supervisor in the City of Carrollton Utilities Department, was very artistic, and loved to draw. Survivors include her daughter and son, Gracelyn Alyssa Phillips and Garrett Allen Phillips; her mother and father, Patricia and Jacky Patterson, of Newnan; brother, Steven Michael Jordan and his wife Georgia Lynn Jordan of Newnan; the father of Angel Star, Chris Turner; aunts and uncles, including, Becky O'Neal, Edwin and Candy Reeves, Cindy and Michael St. John; two nephews and several cousins. A family graveside service will be conducted Thursday, March 26, at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, with the Reverend Tommy Akin officiating.\ A memorial service will be held for all friends and family when the current health crisis subsides. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
