MRS. SHIRLEY MOON SMITH Mrs. Shirley Moon Smith, 74, of Hogansville, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born November 1, 1939, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Harman Star Moon and Emmie Lou Holloway Weldon. She lived in Troup County most of her life, was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, and was employed for many years at the Dixie and Dunson Divisions of West Point Pepperell. She enjoyed completing her puzzle books and also enjoyed fishing. Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Deborah and William Allen; son and daughter in-law, Ricky and Betty Carter; sister, Myrtle Stitcher, all of Hogansville; grandchildren, Stephanie Davis, Dwayne Carter, both of Valley, AL, Kevin and Autumn Carter of LaGrange, Hannah and Alan Colson of Warner Robins, Marical Allen and Amanda Carter, both of Hogansville; great-granddaughter, Shelby Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Smith. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jody Mitchell and the Reverend Randy Gilbert will officiate and interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday and Monday nights. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Sunday night, April 13th, and Monday night, April 14th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 15th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange
