Shirley O'Neal Mccarty

Mrs. Shirley O'Neal McCarty, 87, of LaGrange, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022, at her home.

Mrs. McCarty was born September 13, 1935 in Grantville, daughter of the late Harold and Zilla Farr O'Neal. Before making her home in LaGrange, she lived in many locations during her late husband's twenty-year military career. She retired from BellSouth and cherished time spent with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Steel of LaGrange; sons, Michael McCarty and his wife Delores of Newnan, Patrick McCarty and his wife Susan of Grantville; brother, Paul O'Neal and his wife, Barbara of Cartersville; grandchildren, Kelly McCarty, Christopher McCarty, Benjamin McCarty; great-grandchildren, John Michael Adcock, Jeremy Adcock, Jake Jenkins; grand-dog, Tenley; and grand-cat, Noelle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George E. McCarty; brothers, Wayne O'Neal and Edwin O'Neal; and sister, Mary Ann O'Neal Smith.

Private interment will be at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
