Shirley D. Johnides

Mrs. Shirley D. Johnides, age 91, longtime resident of Howell, Michigan, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017. She is the mother of Kathy Trim of Hogansville. Mrs Johnides was born July 8, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Andrew and Ellen (Nye) Matthews. She had worked as an executive secretary for Ford Motor Company, later retired from Citizens Insurance Company, and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Howell. Preceded in death by her husband, John A. Johnides, she was the loving mother of David (Carolyn) Hall of Daytona Beach, Florida, Michael (Cheri) Hall of Howell, Timothy (Karen) Johnides of Lansing, Michigan, Katherine (Charles) Trim of Hogansville and Daniel Johnides of Pennsylvania. Proud grandmother of Sara, Katie, Ben, Sam, Kristin, Michelle, Heather and Charles II; also two great-grandchildren, Jett and Layla; siblings, Bud Matthews, Nancy Lamoreau and Connie Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margie Fisher. Memorial services will be Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at MacDonald's Funeral Home in Howell, Michigan (517-546-2800). Memorial contributions are suggested to Vista Springs of Howell for recreation activities.
