Mrs. Sheri Lynn Flournoy, 63, of Greenville, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mrs. Flournoy was born December 5, 1958, in Lynchburg, VA and lived in Georgia most of her life. She devoted her life to teaching children and served as a home-school coordinator for many years. A member of Westside Baptist Church in Newnan, she was a talented musician and was a member of the Gideons Auxilliary. Lynn was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt, enjoyed cooking, and loved hosting family dinners every Sunday.
Survivors include her husband, James Randy Flournoy of Greenville; daughter, Heather Freeman-Carretto and her husband Dominic of Millsboro, DE; son, James Cody Flournoy and his fiancée Aniyah of Fayetteville; two grandchildren; her father, Jackie Martin of Parisburg, VA; sister in-law, Sandra Johnson and her husband Donald; several nieces and nephews, Timothy Flournoy and his wife Kayla and their children Bodhi and Sydney, LeAnn Stokes and her husband Ben and their daughter Sky, Sandy Vongdasy and her children Mayson and Haylo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Billie Kent Martin.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 30, at Westside Baptist Church in Newnan. The Reverend Alton Midgett will officiate and interment will be in Meadows Cemetery in Grantville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday.
