Mrs. Shelby McClung Hambrick, 84, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Hospice LaGrange.
Born December 6, 1940, in Thomaston, Mrs. Hambrick was the daughter of the late James Archie McClung and Margaret Wade McClung. She lived most of her life in LaGrange, was a longtime waitress at various restaurants, and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church. Mrs. Hambrick loved family gatherings, especially during the holidays; and drinking her coffee.
Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Kathy and Steve Kirkland of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Shane and Connie McClung of West Point; sister, Pat Story of LaGrange; grandchildren, Leslie Moman, Mallory Blanks, Britt Moman, Kyle Kirkland, Ashley Clifton, Kayla O'Neal, and Wesley McClung; ten great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way; and many friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hambrick was preceded in death by her husband, George Hambrick; and her daughter, Christie McClung.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 11, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jody Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.
