Sheila Geeter Stewart

Mrs. Sheila Geeter Stewart, age 84, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Stewart was born May 12, 1942, in Lanett, AL, daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Geeter and Corina Gertrude White Geeter. A resident of Troup County most of her life, she worked in area restaurants for many years. She loved her family and especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Sabrina White (Ken) of Hogansville, Thurmon Eugene Stewart (Janice) of Rockmart, Susan McCormick (Wayne) of Dadeville, AL, Lisa McCormick (Joey) and Nancy Handley, all of LaGrange; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her husband, Thurmon Stewart; sisters, Irene Ozley, Leila Geeter, Ruthie Moore, Betty Statum; and brothers, Thomas Geeter Jr., Danny Geeter, Ronnie Geeter, Rodger Lee Geeter.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 28, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Reverend Michael White and Reverend Joseph White officiating. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service.
