Mrs. Sheila Hammett Bearden, 54, of the Corinth Community of Heard County, passed away, Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Bearden was born March 5, 1962, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Roy Hammett and Ann Bozeman Hammett Cornwell. She lived in the Hogansville area most of her life and was employed at Duracell in LaGrange for a number of years. Survivors include her husband, Stuart Bearden of Corinth; her son, Jeremy Cannon and his significant other, Ronald Telligman of Atlanta; sister, Lisa Cannon of Franklin; half-sisters, Christie Daniel of LaGrange, Ashley Hammett and Sabrina Hammett of Corinth; half-brothers, Justin Hammett and Josh Hammett of Corinth; and her step-father, Hugh Cornwell of LaGrange. A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Neil Stich officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 5 Tuesday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
