MRS. JAN SARNO
Mrs. Sarah Jeanette (Jan) Sarno, 62, of LaGrange, died Sunday, June 26, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, at Lakeview Baptist Church in LaGrange. The Reverend Lamar Truitt will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night.
Mrs. Sarno was born October 14, 1948, in St. Clair County, AL, daughter of the late Edward and Pauline Patterson Macon. She lived in LaGrange most of her life and was a welding instructor, having been employed by Stran Steel and LaGrange Plastics. She was a member and Sunday School teacher of Lakeview Baptist Church, where she was active in the children's puppet ministry.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Sarno of LaGrange; son and daughter in-law, Scott and Carolyn Kistler of West Point and their daughters, Sarah Ashley Kistler and Haley Star Kistler; daughter and son in-law, Mary Ann and Chris Williams of Augusta and their children, Anisa Gail Kistler, Ethan Jace Kistler, Corbin Fisher Williams, and Kaitlyn Williams; step-daughters, Christine and John Quillian, Charlene and Matt Orff, Maurene Sarno; step-sons, Chuck Sarno, Jr., Michael and LeeAnn Sarno; ten step-grandchildren; sister, Bobbie and Larry Dorrough of Hogansville; brothers, Michael Macon, Richard and Judy Macon and Lane and Deidre Macon, all of Pell City, AL.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
