May 12, 1944 — January 10, 2024

Sarah Frances Graben Everette, of Douglasville, passed away at her home on Wednesday January 10, 2024, at the age of 79.

She is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Harrison (Ronald) of Villa Rica, Sarah Rebekah Milchling (Joseph) of Douglasville; son, Lonnie Clayton (Sherrie) of Hogansville; eight grandchildren, Holly Lassetter (Devin), Kelly Leonard (Brad), Kacey McClarty (Jeff), Kara Bixby (Brian), Kristi Allen, Allana Norfar (Zachery), Desiree Wills (Cody) and Jeffery Hannah; ten great grandchildren, Amelia, Ayla, Addison, Brooks, Briggs, Buster, William, Grace, Joseph, Emma; brothers, Bruce (Pat) Graben of LaGrange, Tony (JoAnn) Graben of Ashland, AL, George (Catherine) Graben of Texas, Buddy (Cindy) Graben of Oklahoma; sister, Helen (Eric, deceased) Russell of Empire, AL; sister in-law, Glenda Graben of Opelika, AL; brother-in-law, Bruce Perdue, of North East, PA; and numerous, nephews and cousins.

Born on May 12, 1944 in Hogansville, to Clayton Merritt Graben and Sarah Mauhee Graben Beall, Sarah was also preceded in death by her step-father, Melvin Beall; husband, Marshall Everette; brother, Walter M. Graben, Sr.; sister, Lenora Jane Perdue; sisters, Joycie Ann Brown; Julia Morrow; brother, Frank "Buster" Beall; and great grandson, Baker Lonnie Leonard.

Sarah's life can't be measured by work experiences, accomplishments or things she did or didn't do. Our Lord and Savior will measure our success while we're in this world by the way we loved Him and by the way we shared His love with others, to family, friends and anyone we came in contact with. The Lord will judge us by the way we forgave others of their trespasses against us, in a like manner that the Lord forgave us.

Sarah's heart was surely filled with love for her family. She loved her son, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to hold the babies! She had pictures of her family all over the house and would brag about them and show them off anytime anyone would come around. She loved her grandmother "Big Mama" as we all did. She loved her cousins and talked about fond memories with them at Big Mama's. Growing up, the family and cousins called her "Bubbles". Sarah was born into a family of five and loved her brothers and sisters and in the early years she looked after her younger brothers and sister and even the older brother if he would let her! Later in life when her mother re-married, she welcomed and loved the two sisters and brother that became a part of the blended family.

She loved to listen to her brother Bruce and his wife Pat sing gospel music and would listen to their recordings for hours on end. She would call them up and say guess who I'm listening to?

Sarah did have struggles in her life from childhood trauma's and later in life with dementia and admitted she made many mistakes and bad choices but she wanted her family to know that she was truly sorry and prayed that they would forgive her. Sarah's greatest wish would be that her family would unite together, gather in fellowship often, care and watch over each other and "Love" each other like our Lord Jesus loves us!

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Brad Brimlow will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
