Sarah Barber Cochran

MRS. SARAH COCHRAN Mrs. Sarah Barber Cochran, 77, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Cochran was born February 28, 1937, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late James Durward Barber and Frances Pearson Barber. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, she was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church, was retired from Playtex International in Newnan and then worked for several years at Eckerd Distribution Center. Survivors include her sons and daughters in-law, Steven and Stephanie Cochran, Eddie and Diane Cochran, all of Rocky Mount; brother, Cecil Pearson and his wife, Peggy of Kennesaw; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Johnny Roger Cochran and Ronnie Wayne Cochran; and her brother, Jimmie Rodger Barber. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 15, at Bethel Baptist Church in Rocky Mount. The Reverend Wayne Settle will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday and Saturday nights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Baptist Church. Claude A.
