MRS. SARAH CATES BELLISLE
Mrs. Sarah Cates Bellisle, 88, of Grantville, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Carrollton Manor Nursing Home in Carrollton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., Monday, July 1, at the graveside in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan, with Pastor Jimmy Evans officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m., until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 30, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville.
Born August 27, 1924, in Grantville, Mrs. Bellisle was the daughter of the late Burl Cates and Eudora Spear Cates. Sarah received a business degree from a business college in Atlanta, which she proudly used as an employee for C & S Bank, Bonnell Corporation - Newnan and then Coweta General Hospital in the Social Services Division. Sarah loved Grantville and lived her entire life there being close to her family and friends. She was always active in her church by participating in Sunday School, women's activities, and praising her Savior by being a faithful member of the choir.
Survivors include her step-son Walter N. Bellisle, Jr, and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Laura Bellisle Rainey and her husband, Matthew Russell Rainey, and William Andrew Bellisle; and a great-grandson, Carson Russell Rainey. Sarah treasured her relationships with her nieces and nephews; also surviving her are Joe and Grace Edmondson and family, Robert and Nancy Edmondson and family, Andy and Sally Edmondson Howard and family, Sandra Cates Denmark, and Richard Cates and many other family members.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Walter Norwood Bellisle, Sr.; two brothers, James Madison Cates and Prince Marvin Cates; two sisters, Muriel Cates Chitwood and Elizabeth Cates Edmondson; and two nephews, Ronald Cates and William "Billy" Carroll.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
