MRS. SARA C. McKIBBEN Mrs. Sara Compton McKibben, 89, of Hogansville, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Harrison Cain will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Mrs. McKibben was born December 31, 1920, in Butts County, daughter of the late John Julian Compton and the late Gladys Patrick Compton. Following graduation from Jackson High School and business school, she was employed as a secretary in Griffin until her marriage to Claude A. McKibben in 1947. She lived in Hogansville more than sixty years, where she helped her late husband establish and operate Claude A. McKibben Funeral Home. She was a licensed funeral director for sixty years and was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her two sons, Claude McKibben, Jr. and Yvonne McKibben, and John and Eve McKibben, all of Hogansville; sister in-law, Joanne Compton of Marietta; grandchildren, David McKibben and his wife, Suzi, of Hogansville, Patrick McKibben of LaGrange, and Sarah McKibben of Houston, TX; Yvonne's daughter, Michelle, and grandchildren, Emory, Amberleigh, and Aaron. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 9 Tuesday night, June 22nd, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23rd, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Myrtle Hill Cemetery
