Sara Partridge Austin

MRS. SARA P. AUSTIN Mrs. Sara Partridge Austin, 95, of Hogansville, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, at the graveside in the Mountville Cemetery, with the Reverend Sheila Crowe officiating. Born December 7, 1913, in Meriwether County, Mrs. Austin was the daughter of the late Avent Callaway Partridge and the late Florence Wells Partridge. She attended the University of Georgia, lived in Hogansville most of her life, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hogansville. After raising her sons, she was employed in the record room of City-County Hospital in LaGrange for a number of years. Survivors include her sons and daughter in-law, Dennis and Dana Austin of Hogansville and Dick Austin of Frankewing, TN; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, D. T. Austin. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
