MRS. SARA J. ALLEN

Mrs. Sara J. Allen, age 85 of Hogansville, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Born September 28, 1940 in Carroll County, Mrs. Allen was the daughter of the late John Cager and Emmie Stitcher Vaughn. She was a resident of the Grantville and Hogansville area for 60 years and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church at Banning. Mrs. Allen loved being outside working in her yard, was kind-hearted, and enjoyed taking care of her family.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Allen of Hogansville; son, James (Susan) Johns, of Franklin; daughters, Kathy (Jackie) Dennis and Amy Jarrell, all of Grantville; 7 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances Thompson, Corine Johns, and Bonnie Icola; her brother, John Henry Vaughn; and a great-granddaughter, Haley Kee

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Pastor Brian Hosmer will officiate and interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday evening.
