Sandy Eason Burke

Mrs. Sandy Eason Burke, 72, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mrs. Burke was born May 30, 1952, in Florida, daughter of the late H. D. and Jewell Lester Eason. A resident of LaGrange most of her life, she earned a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from Southern Union State Community College and a Master of Science Nursing degree from Georgia State University. She retired after serving as a nurse educator and critical care nurse at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center and then as a nurse at West Georgia Home Health. Mrs. Burke enjoyed nursing, but she especially loved her family and being a sister and grandmother. She was an active member of the KnitWits at LaGrange Active Life.

Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Burke of Newnan; son and daughter in-law, Michael and LeeAnn Sarno of LaGrange; grandchildren, Antony Sarno, Brooklyn Sarno, Kameryn Garrett, Jewell Sarno, Brayden Sarno, Coleman Sarno; great-grandchildren, Omry Fincher, Jax Sarno, Emerson Sarno; sister, Terri Freeman of Buchanan; brothers, Eddie Eason of Atlanta, Dennis and Sherry Eason of Panama City Beach, FL; and her lifelong friend, Serena Columbe of LaGrange. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William R. "Bill" Burke.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend B.J. Bowers will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, prior to the service.
