Sandra Palmer Underwood

MRS. SANDRA UNDERWOOD Mrs. Sandra Elaine Palmer Underwood, 56, of Franklin, died Friday, January 28, 2011, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. Born December 28, 1954, in Atlanta, Mrs. Underwood was the daughter of the late Katherine Dean Palmer Hill and the late Edward Donald Palmer, She was raised by her step-father, Richard Clay Hill, who also preceded her in death. She had lived at Franklin since 1998, was Baptist by faith, and was employed by the State of Georgia. Survivors include her husband, Peter Joseph Underwood of Franklin; sons, Stephen Dwayne McDonald of Rochester, NY and William Thomas Floyd of Gainesville; sister, Kathleen Walker and Christine Montgomery, both of Franklin; five grandchildren; her mother in-law, Mary Underwood of Arundel, England; and a special nephew, Greg Palmer and his wife, Michelle. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Lloyd Palmer. The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, at Roopville Road Baptist Church in Carroll County, with Brother Stephen Peeples officiating. Claude A.
