Samuel Jackson Toney, 47, of Luthersville, passed away Monday, June 7, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus. Mr. Toney was born February 13, 1974, in LaGrange, son of the late Grady Calvin Toney and Carol Cline Toney. A resident of the Hogansville and Luthersville area most of his life, he loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed working on old cars. Survivors include his wife, Adena Toney of Luthersville; sons, Samuel Toney, Jr. of Luthersville, Jeffery Toney of Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA; daughter, Elizabeth Toney of Luthersville; sisters and brothers in-law, Ellen and James Brewer of Hogansville, Barbara and Raymond Grice of Centre, AL; and brother, Grady V. Toney of Franklin. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Minister Ken Austin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
