Samuel H. Porterfield

MR. SAMUEL PORTERFIELD Mr. Samuel H. Porterfield, 75, of Luthersville and formerly of Newberry, SC, died Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday. Mr. Porterfield was born September 19, 1937, in Elberton, son of the late Paul Edward Porterfield and Odell Adams Porterfield. He was Baptist by faith, was a retired truck driver, and lived in Newberry, SC for many years before making his home in Luthersville. Survivors include his sister and brother in-law, Pauline and Glen Hodges of Luthersville; nephews, Paul and Michelle Foster of Grantville, Ronnie Foster and Donnie Foster of Luthersville, and Ricky Garmon of Rutherfordton, NC; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
