Samuel Christopher "Chris" Brooks, 42, of Moreland, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta of injuries received in a go-kart accident.
Chris was born October 30, 1973, in LaGrange, lived in Coweta County all of his life, was a carpenter and attended Rehoboth Baptist Church in Luthersville. He loved go-kart and mini-bike racing, monster trucks and all things mechanical. He was very kind-hearted and generous and would help anyone who had a need.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Belinda and Danny Thompson; father and step-mother, Donny and Karren Brooks, all of Moreland; sisters and brothers in-law, Heather and Brad Stewart of LaGrange, Heidi and Chad Leatherwood of McDonough, Terah and Mike Capell of Newnan, Tammy and Shane Nelson of Savannah, Rachael Covington of Grantville; brothers and sister in-law, Adam and Jennifer Brooks of Grantville, Daniel Bryan Brooks of Las Vegas, NV; grandfather, James Thompson of Greenville; and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Other Gay Brooks, Elva Mae Brooks, and Fay Thompson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor T.J. Boyd and Pastor Donnie Shelton will officiate and interment will be in Southview Cemetery in Moreland.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night.
