Mr. Samuel R. Bard, 93, of Newnan, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Bard was born November 1, 1927, in Peking, China, the son of Christian Missionaries Reverend B. T. and Ruth Bard. A veteran of service in the U.S. Merchant Marine during the Korean War, he lived in California for many years, where he retired as a machinist from Townsend-Cherry Rivet Company. He moved to Coweta County 31 years ago, purchased a 100-acre farm near Grantville to raise cattle, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Newnan.
Survivors include his sons and daughter in-law, Shawn Bard of Lake Elsiner, CA, Gary and Jean Loze of Newnan; daughter, Geneva Doss of Gilbert, AZ; daughters in-law, Betty Bard of Monticello, FL, Patricia Bard of Hidden Valley Lakes, CA; sisters, Phebe Bard of Riverside, CA, Ruth Wolfe of Glendale, CA; grandchildren, Sharalyn Zampert, James Bard, Ronald Loze, Valerie Shelton, Robert Loze, Daniel Loze, Victoria Lanier, Regina Cusimano, Dean Doss; eighteen great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren. His wife, Anna M. Bard, preceded him in death on January 17, 2021.
A memorial service is not being planned at this time.
