MR. SAM W. RODGERS, JR.
Mr. Sam William Rodgers, Jr., 81, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Hospice LaGrange.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Conrad Defriese and Pastor Philip Murray will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
Mr. Rodgers was born August 30, 1928, in Paris, TX, son of the late Sam and Susie Edna Mankins Rodgers. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired painting contractor, and a member of New Life Christian Center. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers, and his wife of 56 years, Helen Vanzell Rodgers.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Tucker Rodgers; daughters and sons in-law, Teena and Ron Henderson of LaGrange and Crystal and John Martin of Palmetto; sons and daughter in-law, Dennis and Melody Rodgers of Hogansville and Darris Rodgers of LaGrange; a step-son, Mike and Valerie Tucker of Hogansville; a brother, Wayne Rodgers of Lawton, OK; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; and 8 step-great-grandchildren.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation: from 6 until 8 Thursday night, May 13th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home
Services: 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 14th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home
Interment: Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville
