MR. S. L. HURST
Mr. S. L. Hurst, 82, of Hogansville, died Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, at the graveside in Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, with the Reverend Donald Lee and the Reverend Steve Autrey officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8:30 Friday night.
Mr. Hurst was born April 26, 1931, in Grady County, son of the late Ambres Lee Hurst and Annie Jewel Martin Hurst. A veteran of service in the U. S. Army during the Korean War, he was Baptist by faith and retired as a fork lift mechanic from Bibb Manufacturing in Newnan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and had lived at Hogansville for the past three years.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Hurst of Hogansville; daughter and son in-law, Marie and Jim Call of Greenville; sons and daughters in-law, Raymond and Cathy Hurst of Newnan, Edward and Shirley Hurst of Weatherford, TX; sisters, Verdie Hughes of Thomasville, Dean Faircloth of Camilla, Hilda Johnson of Iron City; brothers, Larry Hurst of Pelham, Orgia Hurst, Mayo Hurst; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
