MRS. RUTH R.WHITE Mrs. Nellie Ruth Ray Smith White, 92, of the Louise Community of Troup County, died Monday, February 24, 2014, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Tommy McLeroy will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will be at the home of Linda and Harold Mobley at 38 Stewart Rd. and will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Wednesday night. Born October 13, 1921 in Randolph County, Alabama, Mrs. White was the daughter of the late John William Ray and Minnie Shepherd Ray. She lived in Troup County most of her life, was a member of Louise Baptist Church, and retired as an accountant from Terminal Transport in Atlanta. Survivors include her daughters in-law, Linda Mobley and her husband, Harold of LaGrange, Lois Smith of Hogansville; grandchildren, Dana Brooks and her husband, Brandon of Hogansville, Lisa Reynolds of Fayetteville, Randy Smith of Alexandria, VA, and James Eulys Smith III and his wife, Patty of Hogansville; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Eulys Smith, Sr. and D. C. White; and her sons, Randal R. Smith and James E. Smith, Jr. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 5 until 7 Wednesday night, February 26th, at Claude A.
