MRS. RUTH HENDRIX
Mrs. Ruth Hendrix, 90, of Hogansville, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at The Medical Center in Columbus.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Minister Robert Brooks will officiate and interment will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Carrollton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 9 Friday night.
Mrs. Hendrix was born August 31, 1920, in Carroll County, daughter of the late John Weldon and Bessie Albright Weldon Robinson. A former resident of Carrollton, she had lived in Hogansville for 40 years, where she was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles, sewing, arts and crafts.
Survivors include daughters and sons in-law, Erma Jean and Doyle Todd of Hogansville, Shirley Cook of Newnan, Louise and Benny Muse, Marie and James Hollis, all of Carrollton; sons and daughters in-law, James, Jr. and Jean Hendrix of Bowdon, Sherman and Barbara Hendrix of Carollton; sister, Doris Bass Powell of Newnan; 12 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Hendrix; daughter, Linda Miles; and son, Larry Hendrix.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
