MRS. RUTH J. CARMICHAEL Mrs. Ruth J. Carmichael, 80, of Newnan, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 3, 2011. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Joel Heaton, Jr. will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Mrs. Carmichael was born February 20, 1931, in Fayette County, daughter of the late Leonard and Odessa Florine Caldwell Horton and was raised by her step-mother, Pearl Horton. She was a lifelong resident of Coweta County, was a retired seamstress, and was the wife of the late Ray Stallings Carmichael. Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Brenda and Doug Latimer of Sharpsburg and Deborah Pece of Newnan; sons and daughter in-law, Robert and Laura Carmichael and Wayne Carmichael, all of Newnan; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
