Russell Wayne Hammett

Mr. Russell Wayne "Rusty" Hammett, 51 of Grantville, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at his home. Born July 27, 1969 in Newnan, Mr. Hammett was the son of the late Harvey Lee Hammett and Joanne Pike Hammett. He was a lifelong resident of the Hogansville area and was employed as a carpenter. Survivors include his sister, Sandra Sims of Bigstone Gap, VA; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in by his brothers, Rocky Hammett and Danny Ryan Hammett. The family will gather to receive friends at 458 Wares Cross Road in LaGrange. A private burial will be held at Welcome All Baptist Church Cemetery in Hogansville. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
