MRS. RUBY BROOKS WARD Mrs. Ruby Brooks Ward, 73, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at her home. Born September 14, 1940 in LaGrange, Mrs. Ward was the daughter of the late Olin and Louise Smith Brooks. She was a lifelong resident of LaGrange and was a nurse at LaGrange Nursing and Rehabilitation for 20 years. Survivors include her husband, Larry Ward of LaGrange; brother and sister in-law, Hilton and Linda Brooks of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ward was preceded in death by her sister, Sherry Brooks. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 24, at the graveside in Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery in Graham, Alabama with the Reverend Van Brown officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Wednesday night. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Hospice LaGrange. Claude A.
