Roy Howard Moore

Mr. Roy H. Moore, 79, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Moore was born June 12, 1938, in Troup County, son of the late Adrin Edward Moore and Emma Smith Moore. A lifelong resident of Troup County, he was Baptist by faith and had been active at The Active Life in LaGrange. He retired from the Dixie Division of West Point-Stevens. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Moore; son and daughter in-law, Lamar and Barbie Whitley; daughter, Dale Hosey, all of LaGrange; brother, Bennie Winston Moore of LaGrange; grandchildren, Benji Whitley, Haley and Alec Akin, Dan Stogner, Michael Bradley; great-grandchildren, Cami Whitley, Zoie Cline, Grayden Cline, Danny Randall (Trey) Stogner III; and several nieces and nephews, including Merle McMillian and her husband Jimmy, Crystal Boyd and her husband David, and Richard Rainey and his wife, Cathy. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Danielle Cline and his son in-law, Clifford Hosey. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 22, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jimmy McMillian will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
