MR. ROY HAMMETT Mr. Roy Hammett, 70, of the Corinth Community, died Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend T. J. Boyd, the Reverend Brian Hosmer, and the Reverend Paul Dennis will officiate and interment will be in Corinth. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Mr. Hammett was born February 16, 1941, in Corinth, son of the late J. B. Hammett and the late Kate Kee Hammett. He was a lifelong resident of Corinth and was a farmer. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hammett of Corinth; children, Justin Hammett and his wife, Beth, and Josh Hammett, of Corinth, Lisa Cannon and her husband, Toney, of Franklin, Ashley Hammett, Sabrina Hammett, Shelia Bearden and her husband, Stuart, all of Corinth, Greg Hammett of LaGrange, and Robert Holloway of Corinth; brothers, Perk Hammett of Corinth, Allen Hammett of Hogansville, and Bobby Hammett of Riverdale; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
