March 28, 1951 — September 8, 2020

Mr. Roy L. Drake, 69, of Hogansville, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at Hospice LaGrange. Mr. Drake was born March 28, 1951, in Hogansville, son of the late William and Belle Horton Drake. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he was a retired department manager and was a member of Family Worship Center. He dearly loved his family and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Drake of Hogansville; his children, Buddy and Marsha Drake of Covington, LeeAnn and David Prescott, Glenda Cabe, Kenny and Angela Adams, all of Hogansville, Amanda and Steven Young of West Point; brothers, James Drake of Hogansville, Bill Drake of Portland, OR, David Drake of Winston-Salem, NC, Danny Drake of Hogansville, Joe Drake of Moreland, and Ronald Drake; sister, Anne Holtz of Colorado; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friends, Wilson, Iris, and Damary Alfaro. The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, September 10, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun and the Reverend Kevin Johnson will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
