Roy C. Couch

MR. ROY C. COUCH, SR. Mr. Roy C. Couch, Sr., 85, of Hogansville, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, at the Apostolic Lighthouse at 45 Lee Rd. 499 in Phenix City, Alabama, with the Reverend Larry Beardsley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before and after the service. Mr. Couch was born December 28, 2013, in Hall County, son of the late Esbon and Josephine Grendel Couch. He had lived in Hogansville for the past seven years and was a former resident of Phenix City, Alabama. He owned and operated an upholstery shop in Columbus for over 25 years. Survivors include his wife, Marie Couch of Hogansville; sons, Roy Couch, Jr. and his wife, Bobbie Lou, Robert Couch and his wife, Elaine, all of Columbus; step- sons and their wives, Kenneth and Carol Chase, Randy Richardson and Lisa Pike, and Rodney Ball and Karen Neese, all of Hogansville; brothers, Ernest Welden Couch of Lula, Billy Couch of Gainesville; sisters, Vivian Smith and Ruby Henderson, both of Buford, Becky Chastain and Virginia Segars, both of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren (Grandaddy and Fat Girl had a special bond); and 40 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Couch; brother, Henry Couch; and sister, Inez McDaniel. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
