Mr. Roy Hampton Brown, 85, of Grantville, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021.
Mr. Brown was born April 13, 1936, in Heard County, son of the late Rutherford and Oretha Fomby Brown. A resident of Coweta County most of his life, he was an over-the-road truck driver for forty years prior to his retirement and was a member of First White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Following his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and attending civic meetings and functions in the City of Grantville. Mr. Brown loved and trusted his Lord and enjoyed caring for babies, children, and all members of his family.
Survivors include his daughters and son in-law, Donna Hopper of Atlanta, Suzanne Porter of Tennessee, Kim and George Kramer of Newnan; his sister, Elizabeth Bryan of Albany; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Justiss Brown; son, Michael Hampton Brown; brother, Ed Brown; and sisters, Katherine Barber and Helen Attaway.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Robert Cason will officiate and interment will be in First White Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
