Mrs. Rose Hardaway Lee, 93, of the Lone Oak Community of Meriwether County, passed away, Sunday, June 16, 2019, at Southwest Christian Care in Union City. Mrs. Lee was born April 23, 1926, in Greenville, daughter of the late Ira Eugene Hardaway and Leola Norris Hardaway. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, she was a member of Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in Lone Oak, where she served as treasurer for many years and had been active in the United Methodist Women. She retired as human resources director from Uniroyal-Goodrich Tire Company in Hogansville after 42 years of service. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Joe and Sondra Lee of Hogansville; grandchildren, Alyson McGhee and her husband Jeremy of LaGrange, Stuart Lee and his wife Alex of Lone Oak; great-grandchildren, Isabella McGhee and Willow McGhee; sister, Peggy and Bill Wilson of Dacula; brother, Harry and Jewell Hardaway of Buford; sister in-law, Ann and Pete Johnson; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded n death by her husband, Roswell W. Lee; six sisters; and two brothers. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Michael McFarlin and the Reverend Greg Morris will officiate and interment will be in Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2 Tuesday afternoon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
