Rosalyn Wise Cannon

Mrs. Rosalyn Cannon, 76, of Luthersville, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015, at Gentiva Hospice at Athens Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cannon was born January 7, 1939, in LaGrange, daughter of the late George Maron Wise and Irene Keel Wise Massengale. A former resident of Newnan, she had lived in Luthersville for thirty years and was a member of East Newnan Baptist Church. She retired as a unit secretary from Newnan Hospital after 33 years of service. Survivors include her daughter, Sherrill Winslette of Monticello; five grandchildren, Eric and Allison Wilson, Ronald and Jessica James, Phillip and Jamie James, Amy and Brian Neese, and Megan James and Seth Abercrombie; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin F. Cannon; and her son, Ronald James. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 28, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Kenny Heinzel will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
