Mr. Ronnie Eugene Chapman, 71, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. Mr. Chapman was born May 3, 1949, in Manchester, son of the late Herman Eugene Chapman and Amelia White Chapman. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he lived in Hogansville most of his life and retired after serving 32 years as a police officer. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and he loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Susan Chapman; sons, Scotty Eugene Chapman and Dustin Lamar Chapman; daughters, Candy Chapman Bonner and her husband Keith, Tonya Chapman Thornhill and her husband Brian, Angel Chapman Pope, all of Hogansville; sister Cathy Thompson of Alabama; brothers, Mike Chapman of Hogansville, Joey Chapman of LaGrange; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Chapman, his twin brother, Donnie Herman Chapman, and his brother, Barry Chapman. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
