Mr. Ron L. Galloway, 68, of Hogansville, GA passed away Monday, May 1, 2017, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Galloway was born April 14, 1949, son of the late Betty Smith Galloway and the late Raford Galloway. A 1968 graduate of Hogansville High School, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, was Methodist by faith, and had lived in Hogansville most of his life. Ron retired from FedEx after 35 years of service and was also a licensed real estate agent for Southern Realty Ltd. He enjoyed gathering with his high school class, attending auctions, showing and selling homes, and especially being with his family and friends.
Survivors include his sister, Jenny Norwood and Blake Shelnutt; brother, Steve and Pam Galloway; sister in-law, Linda Galloway, all of Hogansville; half-sister, Lisa and Ricky Tenney of Rockmart; nieces and nephews, Karen (Brian) Trevena, Troy (Kacy) Galloway, Wendy (Eric) Scott, Wayne (Michelle) Norwood, Kerrie (Brandon) Smith; great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Jackie Villani. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Galloway.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Kevin Wegienka and the Reverend Randall Hodge will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night.
