Roger Carl Olson

MR. ROGER C. OLSON Mr. Roger C. Olson, 69, of Greenville, died Friday, November 6, 2009, at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Harry Cain officiating. Born October 15, 1940, in Graceville, Minnesota, Mr. Olson was a former resident of Fayette County and had lived in Meriwether County since 1990. He retired as an over the road truck driver after more than thirty years service, and then worked with his nephew at Brad's Automotive in Forest Park. Survivors include his mother, Loma Olson of Athens ; sister and brother in-law, Vonnie and Arlan Zimmerman, also of Athens; his children, Teresa, Diane, Steven, Shelley, and Lisa, all of Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Setters Olson; his son, Daniel Olson; and his father, Vernal E. Olson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Dr., McDonough, GA 30253. Claude A.
