MRS. ROBERTA GARRETT Mrs. Ethel Roberta Garrett, 68, of LaGrange, died Friday, July 15, 2011, at Hospice LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, at Living Waters Baptist Church in LaGrange. The Reverend Richard Clinard and the Reverend S. T. Janney will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night. Mrs. Garrett was born September 24, 1942, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late John and Myrle Jeter Denny. A resident of Troup County most of her life, she retired from Shorewood Packaging and was a member of the LaGrange Senior Center and Living Waters Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Dewey L. Garrett, Sr.; daughter and son in-law, Sabrina and Jay Aalto; sons, Dewey Lee Garrett, Jr. and John Sidney Garrett and his wife, Carol; sister, Linda Owens, all of LaGrange; three grandchildren, Matt Jordan, Kevin Aalto, Stefanie Whaley; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dollie Garrett; sisters, Catherine Aldridge, Margie Bowles, Betty Johnson, and Peggy Esteban; and brother, William Denny. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Saturday night, July 16th, at Claude A.
