MR. ROBERT J. WARD
Mr. Robert J. Ward, 82, of Phenix City, Alabama, passed away, Friday, June 5, 2015, at Avalon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Newnan.
Mr. Ward was born November 11, 1932, in Heard County, son of the late Robert and Christine Hawk Ward. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he lived in Newnan before making his home in Opelika twenty years ago and was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include his sister, Clara Rogers of Grantville; brother, Lawrence Ward of Lawrenceville; a number of nieces and nephews, including Karen Jabaley of Grantville; daughters, Marie Hannah and Linda Johnston both of Madison, Anita O'Neal, Ann Gentry, and Tammy Richardson all of Newnan, Lisa Boyd of LaGrange; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his long-time friend, Glenda McGee.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p. m., Sunday, June 7, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
