ROBERT F.(BOB) SWINFORD
Mr. Robert F.(Bob) Swinford, 71, of LaGrange, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 15, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Moon and the Reverend Jody Mitchell will officiate and interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery, with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night.
Mr. Swinford was born July 5, 1942, in Ocala, Florida, son of the late Henry and Margaret Blankenship Swinford. A resident of LaGrange since 1963, he was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He retired from Werner Trucking of Omaha as an over-the-road truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Hendricks Swinford; daughter and son in-law, Terita and Kenneth Stitcher; sons and daughters in-law, Shane and Samantha Swinford, Chris and Judy Swinford, all of LaGrange; sisters and brother in-law, Gail and Henry Evans, and Mary Yannotti, all of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, DeeDee Siggers, J. R. Kennedy, Clay Swinford, Dylan Swinford, Logan Swinford, Levi Taylor; great-grandchildren, Shelby Siggers, Austin Kennedy, Brayden Swinford; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Tassie, Kendall and Jacob, who he assisted in raising. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Marty Swinford; grandsons, T. J. Swinford and Dalton Swinford; sister, Betty DeLima, and brothers, Leroy Swinford and Raymond Swinford..
