MR. ROBERT D. STAPLER Mr. Robert D. Stapler, 90, of Opelika, AL and formerly of Hogansville, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Homer Wisener will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. Mr. Stapler was born March 5, 1918, in Cleburne county, AL, son of the late Lewis Edward Stapler and the late Tavie Nolan Stapler. He lived at Hogansville from 1960 until making his home in Opelika last year, was a member of Corinth Baptist Church, and was the retired owner and operator of Stapler Small Engine Sales and Service. Survivors include his sons and daughter in-law, Larry and Pat Stapler of Opelika, AL and James Stapler of Smiths Station, AL; one brother, Melvin Stapler of Ranburne, AL; and four grandchildren, Lori Stapler, Ray Stapler, Ricky Stapler, and Michael Stapler. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Chipman Stapler. Flowers are welcomed, or memorial contributions may be made to the Corinth Cemetery Fund. The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 3:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1st Services: 5:30 p.m., Sunday, June 1st
