Mr. Robert J. "Jay" Phillips, Jr., 61, of Hogansville, passed away, Friday, July 16, 2021, at his home.
Mr. Phillips was born May 28, 1960, in Atlanta, son of the late Robert Jasper Phillips, Sr. and late Peggy Strickland Phillips Rogers. A resident of the Atlanta area before making his home in Hogansville, he was a member of Crossover Ministries in Jackson, worked many years as a mechanic and tow truck driver and retired from Lowe's. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan was known for the love that he had for all of his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Phillips; his children, Brandi Matthews and her husband Justin Matthews of Jackson, Kimberly Phillips and her fiancée Randall Housel, Heather Pike, Robert J. Phillips III and his fiancée Ashley Steele, all of Hogansville; his step-father, Hubert Rogers of Pelham, AL; sister, Pam Farr of Villa Rica, Amy White of Pelham; brother, Thomas Rogers of Aurora, CO; and thirteen grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 24, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend David Morris will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. It was the desire of Mr. Phillips that those attending his service wear their usual casual attire.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night.
