Robert Gaines Maddox

Mr. Robert Gaines Maddox, 81, of Hogansville,GA passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the home of his daughter in Grantville. Mr. Maddox was born February 15, 1936, in Carroll County, son of the late Norman and Mabel Wilson Maddox. A veteran of service in the U. S. Marine Corps, he had lived in Troup County since 1974, was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church in LaGrange, and retired as a foreman from Perry Communications. He enjoyed woodworking and attending the Active Life Center in LaGrange. Survivors include his children, James Edwin Maddox of Hogansville, Bonnie Jean Jones and her husband Mike of Grantville, Lora Maddox Bailey of Centralhatchee, Joseph Clayton Maddox and his wife Dottie of Columbus, OH, Corey Maddox and his wife Chelse of Ft. Stewart; sisters, Jean Ludwick of Powder Springs, Patsy Barron of Clarksdale; brother, Danny Maddox of Austell; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Warren Maddox, and his brother, Lavaine Maddox. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Anthony Hovey will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
