Mr. Robert M. (Bobby) Knighton, 82, of Hogansville, left his earthly home to meet his Savior on Saturday, September 9, 2017.
Mr. Knighton was born September 13, 1934, in LaGrange, son of the late Clarence and Allene Armstrong Knighton. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he had lived in Hogansville since 1963 and was a retired cotton broker, having owned and operated Knighton, Inc. for many years. He was a member of the Hogansville Church of God, was an avid and very competitive golfer, and loved his family dearly.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Knighton of Hogansville; daughters and sons in-law, Michi and Chip Clay of Hogansville, Mandie and Kelley Wilder of Sharpsburg; and his devoted grandsons, Taylor Clay and his fiancée Haley Lane, and Jordan Clay.
A service to celebrate the life and homegoing of Bobby will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Hodge will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday night.
